American Crew Boost Powder VS Hairbond Gripper American Crew Boost Powder VS Hairbond Gripper
How do you compare the differences between a popular hair powder and an industry-leading pomade? Today we look at two of the best selling hair styling products from two of today’s strongest global hair stying brands. We will compare results after ranking each out of five across seven fields. I bring to you battle of the brands featuring the American Crew Boost Powder VS Hairbond Gripper .

American Crew
Hairbond United Kingdom
The start-up UK brand Hairbond United Kingdom launched later in 2008 by professional hairdresser and barber Scott Michaels, in order to raise the standards of the global hair styling market, by focusing only on the best premium ingredients and of only the highest quality for their best-performing hair styling products.
Most major companies look for ways to cut costs where they can to keep their products competitively priced, subsequently losing a lot of quality, but Hairbond says they are only focused on manufacturing the best, whatever the cost. The company is a lot more exclusive and Hairbond’s products can be hard to find, although they do only cater for the end of the market who are prepared to fork out for the privilege of quality.

Packaging:
Slick. Classy. Elegant. 5/5
Application:
The application is so easy because the Hairbond Gripper is so smooth. This water-based pomade is so easy to apply. I prefer applying to damp towel dry hair for a slicker finish. 5/5
Finish:
Starting with damp hair adds more shine to the look. If you love pomade but you’re not that into a shiny look, you can always apply to dry hair. If you have coarse or thick curly hair you may want to add small amounts to dry hair too. 5/5
Consistency:
Something inbetween a jelly and a gel. 5/5
Hold:
It is labelled as 4 notches out of 5 for hold. As mentioned this can fluctuate depending on how you prepare your hair. 4/5
Overall:
4.5/5
What They Say
“With a mouth-watering cola cube fruity fragrance, this product might remind you of some of the thirst-quenching sweets you had as a kid. Depending on how much is used and how the hair is prepared, different levels of shine can be achieved to best suit the hairstyle. To use, most imporantly always start with a small amount in your palms and then apply to your hair and style however you desire.
For a lower hold and high shine, give your hair a towel dry keeping some of the moisture in after rinsing, or for a higher hold and lower shine, you could blow-dry the hair first before applying the pomade. The Hairbond Gripper Pomade has a nice 4/5 hold factor, making it ideal for controlling and styling even the curliest, thickest or coarsest hair. It’s strong enough to allow you to work high hairstyles and it’s paraben-free, meaning high, healthy, styled hair! You will find the Hairbond Gripper Pomade in any top barbers arsenal/toolbox as the pomade’s versatility is perfect for finishing off their freshest work giving their clients a well-groomed, smart appearance.”
